This privacy statement explains to you how information collected here at GOPrising is used and not used.

Personal information
When you sign up with our social mapping network or on this site, I ask you for some personal information:

• Your first name and last name
• Your zip code
• Your email address

What I do with this information
Your first name and last name is used on the email invitations that you send to your friends through the forms on the site. That is the only way they can know who is sending the email if you use the form. Technically, the email originates on our computers and so it will be "From" our site. Your friends won't know GOPrising and won't care about the email. Unless they realize it is from you and we are merely doing the technical/neat work on your behalf.

Your zip code is used to show where you are (roughly) on the Flash map of this social network. If people offer to help with this part of the project, this information may be used in future to get local RP supporters in touch with each other in order to organize locally, connect with local meetup groups, win your neighborhoods for the primaries/caucuses, and to identify when to send you a reminder email to vote. This information will allow us to do this even if people are part of separate social networks. Please stay tuned for more info on this phase of the project and please comment below re any concerns/questions/ideas about how this can be done while protecting privacy.

Your email address is used to create the degrees-of-friends features on our site and to communicate with you as we set up the local organization project and create other features on the site. If you opt out of any communication when you register, you will not receive any communications from us - including the ability to connect with other local Ron Paul Republicans. While this may be appealing, it will also accomplish nothing re getting Ron Paul elected and/or connecting Ron Paul Republicans together. Flash maps look neat but they don't vote and they can't be a delegate or a local official. So please opt to receive communications if possible. This choice will not be abused by GOPrising.com.

What I do not do with this information
I do not give, sell or rent any of the above information to any third party. I do not send unsolicited commercial email ("spam") to your email address. Bluntly, I have no intention of wasting your goodwill or the opportunity we have to change this country by trying to make a couple of bucks selling you trash.

Future Plans and General Policies
The goal is to be clear and up-front about how information is stored and used - now and in the future. I do intend to improve and expand the site. There are huge opportunities to ramp-up our local organizing skills, to benchmark local solutions to problems in order to successfully devolve power downwards, to elect new Ron Paul Republicans to Congress and other offices, and to do business with each other. I will not squander that sort of potential. Realizing it will not be easy though and I will need your help to accomplish it.
